Assembly

8. Install the other PCI cards

This step is similar to the last step.

You're going to do the same thing with your remaining cards as you did with your video card.  Check to see which cards you have, these may include the Sound Card, Network Card, Firewire Card, or any other you decided to purchase.

Install Other PCI Cards - Building A PC

Placement of the remaining cards is not as important as the placement of the video card because the PCI slots are all the same.  Keep in mind however that spacing the cards an equal distance from each other may help in keeping the heat of one card away from the others.  Since the video card typically generates the most heat out of all the other cards, you will want to place the other cards as far away from it as you can.  This is especially true if your video card has a fan.  You want to make sure this fan has plenty of freedom to disperse the hot air resulting from the video card's own mini processor.

To Install:

Touch the case!  Remember, if you're not using a static wristband then make sure you are always touching the case while handling electronic components.  I usually just make sure my forearm is touching the perimeter of the case.

Just do the same thing you did with the video card, only be sure to put all the rest of the cards in PCI slots.  Once this is done, you'll be ready to install your CD or DVD drive.

You're Getting Closer

Let's go to Install the CD/DVD Drive (Step 9)
