Motherboard

This is the most complex and one of the most important components of the computer.  Every component of the computer is connected through the motherboard so it is very important that you have a reliable and durable motherboard.

The top three motherboard companies are Asus, AOpen, and Gigabyte.  I've had good luck with all three and would highly recommend those companies.

One thing to keep in mind, when shopping for a motherboard it can be very easy to get overwhelmed by all the choices.  Your best bet would be to buy a motherboard bundle which contains the motherboard, processor, and most often the RAM (memory) as well.  This ensures that these three components work together, most importantly the motherboard and processor.  Most online stores provide this option, the store that I recommend is TigerDirect .  Check out their motherboard bundles below!

Cost

For just a motherboard the cost will be in the range of $50 to $250 depending on how new it is and what company makes it.  For a bundle the cost can range from $250 to $1,000, but remember, that usually includes the motherboard, processor, AND the RAM.
