Intel Pentium CPU/Processor & AMD CPU/Processor Comparison

The processor is the brain of the computer.  Every bit of information that goes from one part of the computer to another goes through the processor first so it's important that you pick a processor that can handle whatever you put it up to.

There are two main well known processor manufacturers, Intel and AMD.  There is a chance you've never heard of AMD because Intel is such a leader when it comes to making processors.  I've personally used different models of processor from each company and have found that I have fewer problems with the Intel Pentium processor.  It's hard to say whether this is just by chance but I think most people have had the same experience.

AMD should be given a lot of credit however, it's managed to stay competitive with Intel and has recently come out with the first 64 bit processor (INSERT LINK TO AMD ARTICLE).  They also beat Intel in terms of prices for their processors.  The difference between the two companies is debatable but if you want a solid company with a good track record, I would go with Intel.
