Wireless Routers
If you have or plan on having more than one computer and a high speed internet connection (Cable or DSL) then a router is a must buy. A router’s function is to take one internet connection, and split it up amongst several computers. There are two ways of doing this, through networking wires or through the air.
Wired routers are a pain to set up, but may offer a higher level of security than their wireless counterpart. If you think about it, what a wireless router does is transmit your internet connection into the open air for any computer with a wireless card to pick up (ARTICLE ON THIS). It’s becoming more common these days to be able to stumble into a “hot zone (INSERT LINK)” even while in one’s own house. Example: I have a wireless router and just recently found out about this in 
ternet connection stealing so I wanted to make sure my router was secure. I accomplished that by following the instructions on this website (INSERT LINK AND REPHRASE TRANSITION). Just out of curiosity I decided to walk around my house with my laptop and see if I could pick up any of my neighbors signals. Lo and behold I stumbled across someone else’s wireless network. Fortunately they had their network password protected so I wasn’t able to do anything with it, but there are people out there who can crack those networks. (CONTINUE LATER)
